Why The Colts Fans Are #13 On Facebook isn’t a huge surprise.

Experiencing back to back, 3 win seasons in ’97 & ’98, the Colts began to quickly put it all together. In 1998 we saw that rookie quarterback, Peyton Manning, struggle a bit getting his feet wet, but from ’99 through 2010 (12 years) the team averaged 11.5 wins per season, making the playoffs every year but 2001.

Everyone knows what happened next. With Manning recovering from surgery, the team won just 2 games. Then as “Luck” would have it, they were right back in the playoffs the following two years. How lucky can one town get?

Making the playoffs 12 out of the past 15 years (80%) is going to win some likes, and Colts Fans have obliged. Appearing in two Super Bowls (including a win) since Facebook arrived has also helped a lot, and hope springs eternal with their new quarterback Andrew Luck.

Head Coach Dungy won a SB, his replacement Caldwell lost one, and now Chuck Pagano gets a fresh start with the 2012 #1 draft pick throwing the ball! Sweet stuff for a fan base that can still taste the exhilaration of being the best in the World!

The last two drafts have seen Pagano’s team go heavy on offense with 12 of 15 on that side of the ball. Since pickingpros.com ranked them 15th in points allowed, 16th in passing yards allowed, 17th in take aways, but 27th against the run last year, I’m thinking that the 2014 draft should focus a bit more on the other side of the ball!

With all those recent wins, are Indianapolis Colts Fans spoiled?
