Wildcard Game Two 2014 – New Oleans Saints Vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Wildcard Game Two 2014 could be a wildcard shoot out at the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles lead the league in passing plays over 20 yards, and the Saints passing attack is ranked #2 (Broncos #1) in yards per game. Here’s how they stack up across the board.

Average Points/Game – Eagles 27.6, Saints 25.9

Offense

Avg. Passing Yards Gained/Game – Saints 307.4, Eagles 256.9

Avg. Rushing Yards Gained/Game – Eagles 160.4 (Yards/Rush 5.1), Saints 92.1 (Yards/Rush 3.8)

Defense

Avg. Passing Yards Allowed/Game – Saints 194.1, Eagles 256.9

Avg. Rushing Yards Allowed/Game – Eagles 104.2 (Yards/Rush 3.8), Saints 111.6 (Yards/Rush 4.6)

The Eagles 160.4 Yards/Game rushing leads the league. Look for them to rush early and often to eat up the clock and keep Drew Brees off the field. The Saints Secondary is the best in the league, so the run first strategy is a good one, especially since the Eagles are averaging 5.1 yards per attempt (Also best in the league).

The Saints have had their share of struggles this year on the road, but don’t count them out in this game. If they manage to get an early lead, the Eagles will need to be patient and stick to their “ground and pound” advantage.

I have a fealing that this Wildcard Game Two 2014 could be an upset. The Saints could easily put up a lot of points against that Eagles secondary, which is ranked LAST in the league!
